Gym Rules

Guidelines to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive training environment

Safety First

  • Always tap when caught in a submission - your safety is our priority
  • No striking, kicking, or striking-based techniques during grappling
  • Wear proper protective gear during sparring sessions
  • Report any injuries immediately to a coach
  • Keep nails trimmed and remove jewelry before training

Respect & Etiquette

  • Respect your training partners regardless of skill level
  • No offensive language, harassment, or bullying
  • Ask permission before rolling with someone new
  • Be mindful of strength and size differences
  • Help newer students learn and improve

Class & Schedule

  • Arrive on time - late arrivals may not be allowed to join
  • Warm up properly before class begins
  • Stay for the entire class unless excused by instructor
  • Clean up your training area after class
  • Respect the instructor's teaching methods and corrections

Hygiene & Cleanliness

  • Shower and use deodorant before training
  • Wear clean, properly fitting gi or training attire
  • Bring a towel and water bottle to every class
  • Keep the gym clean - throw away trash and organize equipment
  • No shoes on the mat - use designated areas for footwear

Community & Growth

  • Support your teammates' progress and celebrate their achievements
  • Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat
  • Focus on learning and improvement over winning
  • Participate in gym events and community activities
  • Represent Team Domingos positively in competitions and public

Important Notice

These rules are in place to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable training experience. Violation of these rules may result in temporary suspension or removal from the gym.
